I quit smoking almost 6 weeks ago. I chewed the gum for 1 week, but haven’t had any nicotine in my system for 5 weeks. I feel awful with all the signs of withdrawal – lethargic, tired, short of breath, light headed, difficulty concentrating. Does anyone know how long this should last?
I smoked for 21 years about 10-15 cigarettes per day. Since I quit I feel worse than I ever did when I was smoking. And it’s not just psycholigical, these are physical symptoms. I almost want to start smoking again

I have tried to quit smoking many times and found that the patches work best… I tried the gum and it was not effective @ all. The only problem with the patch is that I get a rash @ the site of the application. Any ideas on tips to reduce the rash, so i can finally stop smoking?

My husband had to take a physical exam for our new life insurance policy and it came back positive for nicotine in his urine. He said he has had one cigarette in the last year (in August) but is still chewing nicorette on a regular basis. Would this test show up positive just from chewing this gum?

My dad has stopped smoking cold-turkey for health reasons and is experiencing nicotine withdrawal symptoms and he can not have things like the patch because he can not have nicotine in his body at all. What are some ways to help him- like are there over the counter calming aids that don’t add nicotine to the body- or gum chewing, fake smoking, herbs?

I’m thinking about quitting smoking. I know I want to quit within the next 2 years. The only thing is that I really enjoy smoking. I smoke roughly 15 a day. I would like to know how to quit without using the patch or gum. I can’t quit all at once but would like to ease into it by smoking less and less. So what I really need to know also is…
How do you make yourself smoke less?
