My husband had to take a physical exam for our new life insurance policy and it came back positive for nicotine in his urine. He said he has had one cigarette in the last year (in August) but is still chewing nicorette on a regular basis. Would this test show up positive just from chewing this gum?

I have a blood test tomorrow at 4:00 PM and smoked a cigarette yesterday at about 7:30 PM. Will there be nicotine in my system? I only had one, and I smoke sparingly since I “quit” about 3 weeks ago.

I know that smoking one cigarette a day isn’t healthy, but I’m wondering if my body will develop a tolerance from this amount of nicotine. I just started smoking, and so far each time I smoke I feel the affects pretty strongly, which is the main reason I’m doing it. But will I most likely develop a tolerance from just one cigarette per day, to the point that I no longer get a “buzz” from smoking just one?
